Thanks for your comments. I went and tried to read your article. You may think that what Joyce Meyer preaches is incorrect, misinterpretation…that’s fine…what I hear her saying has been more helpful to me in a few weeks than all the years I sat in church – I can relate to her experiences. She has a life load of her own experiences that she brings to everything she says…and yes, she tells how good her life is now but she’s also more than happy to tell where she’s come from and the struggles she’s had as well…this makes her more real…a walking, talking example of how God can work in someone’s life if they let Him – and the priviledges and responsibilities He may give them…we have to start somewhere in our walk with God…for some it’s through the Catholic church…for others it’s the Salvation Army…try Bill Gothard…they teach different things, hold (slightly) different beliefs but who’s to say which is righter than the other? Bringing people into a relationship with God should be the focus…rather than arguing about who’s doctrine is better…who’s interpretation is right…one’s too strict, one’s too permissive…God meets us where we are and that should be enough…until He says to move on.

I’d like to challenge you to question Joyce Meyer’s teachings -or rather the whole “word of faith” genre she represents.

I’ve begun a blog (or is it an article? a book?) critiquing one of her books at joycevsjesus.wordpress.com

There’s a link at the bottom to a critique of another book of hers by someone else.

Meyer will tell you that you have to “work on it”, as you say when you started this post. Jesus says the opposite.

Some times all it is is practise…I don’t practise enough…and I certainly don’t pass it on which is the only way the next generation will learn…that’s a challenge within itself! Thanks for your comments…it’s got me thinking.

Thank you all for your lovely comments! I’ll have to do this kind of thing more often (first timer I are) as it was most enjoyable and being able to see what everyone else has made is a bonus!
